Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions

At the beginning of this week in Maths, focused on converting improper fractions to mixed numbers. We used our division knowledge to work out how many whole numbers were in each fraction and how much fraction was left over.

Today, we converted a mixed number into an improper fraction. We used our times table knowledge by timesing the whole number by the denominator and adding our answer to the numerator. The numerator then gave us our answer and our denominator, which we have learnt, ALWAYS STAYS THE SAME!
