Father Lloyd led us in our first chapel service this year. We read a Bible verse about the cost of being a disciple. When the disciples chose to follow Jesus, they made many sacrifices, giving up things in their lives. We thought about this in our lives today and reflected on how in fact Queen Elizabeth II also sacrificed much as Queen throughout her long and successful reign. Much like the disciples, Queen Elizabeth II showed overwhelming faith in God as she wholeheartedly believed that she had been chosen to fulfil this important role and was fully committed to it throughout her life. We read some prayers to say thank you for our inspirational Queen and ask God to support our new monarch, King Charles III, and our nation in this time of change.
