Year 5 visited Gateshead Library and had a great time listening to Mark and exploring the library. They learned the role of a librarian which included: helping people locate books and information; managing a budget; and storing and keeping care of books in the dungeon.
The children took part in book bingo where they had to find books according to a specific criteria. It helped the children look at a range of books which are on offer in the library, there are so many! We are very lucky to have such a big library on our doorstep.
At the end of the session the children were able to pick a book to take back to school. They also learned that they can reserve books if someone else is reading the library copy.
