We had the wonderful opportunity to compete against an array of schools in the recent cross-country tournament held by Gateshead SSP. In promoting PE across the school, we have already been able to attend 3 sporting events this term with more to follow and our intrahouse competitions in Autumn 2 term. For this event, our children had to run an estimate 1.8km track (the furthest they have ever ran).
They competed with maximum effort, breathless at the finish line and made our school very proud. Some of our children placed in the top 70 out of a combined cohort of over 300 children. Well done St. Aidan’s runners!
Mr Dunnigan has already suggested we might need to have an afterschool running club set up in summer! Keep your eyes on the diary for further info!
