In science this week, we worked in groups to take part in an investigation to find out which materials would be the best waterproof material. The materials included felt, paper, tin foil, plastic and cling film. First, we filled a beaker with some water. We then placed the material on top of a plastic tub and secured it with an elastic band. After, the children used a pipette to put 10 drops of water into the middle of the material and we observed whether the water went through the material and into the tub. We found out that the tin foil was the best material for waterproofing as the water sat on top of the material, whilst the cling film was the weakest as plenty of water went into the tub.
