This week we have been celebrating Friendship throughout the school. We have looked at different stories that promote the values of good friendship including The Smartest Giant in Town, The Snail and the Whale, Matilda and The boy the fox and the mole. These books tell stories of different friendships and inspired us to think about how the characters felt and how their lives could have been different (in some of the texts) if they had shown the good qualities of friendship.
As a school on Tuesday we thought about the ingredients of friendship soup, in assembly, and some of the ingredients included;
Love
Respect
Being a good listener
Supportive
Understanding
We also took part in a 52 Lives kindness workshop in which we helped to understand what Empathy is and how we can show empathy. We created Christmas cards to send to refugees to help them feel welcomed into our country.
