Last week, Mrs Fraser received a wonderful phone call from Gateshead Library that was very unexpected! Throughout this year, St Aidan’s has fostered positive relationships with Gateshead Central Library with each class visiting to take part in a reading for pleasure workshop and to borrow a book twice this year. We have also hosted a Reading for Pleasure arts and crafts club ran by Gateshead Library librarians and welcomed Onjali Rauf as part of the Northern Children’s Book Festival. In the coming year, we plan to partner again with Gateshead Library and local artists to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the construction of the Angel of the North.
On Friday, we received a donation of a book per child as an early Christmas gift. As you can see, the children were very pleased and excited when their books were given out in class.

We very much treasure the relationship we have with Gateshead Library and would like to thank them very much for the kind donation of such high-quality, enjoyable books.
