Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed taking part in numerous activities to celebrate Number Day. This morning, we shared a story called Sir Cumference and the First Round Table. It was a humorous story in which a knight Sir Cumference designs the first round table. The King of Camelot is so pleased with him and his family that he names the circumference of a circle after him, as well as the radius and diameter after his son and wife, Di of Ameter. Then we took part in a mystery challenge, where children had to use their knowledge of shape, fractions, decimals and measurement to solve clues to eliminate suspects from a list and identify the culprit of a robbery. During Italian, we learnt about how to say and write numbers to 100. Then this afternoon, we took part in an interhouse Maths competition in the hall led by Mr Thorogood. Children from each house competed for house points when answering questions based on the Year 6 curriculum of four operations, fractions, decimals and percentages.
