This week Nursery have been learning about the traditional tale ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. Our number of the week is number 3, so we have been counting in groups of 3. We have had lots of fun scooping, pouring and measuring porridge oats in our water tray this week, using lots of mathematical vocabulary such as full and empty.
Today we had lots of fun making porridge and tasting it. We made sure the porridge wasn’t ‘too hot’ or ‘too cold’. It was ‘just right’! While we waited for the porridge to cook, we sang the song ‘When Goldilocks went to the house of the bears’ using the actions. The children were fantastic at retelling the story and using the well known phrases from the story to describe their porridge. We were able to use the makaton sign for ‘more’ when we had polished off our first helping!
