Celebration Assembly

We had a wonderful, all be it, slightly different celebration assembly this morning with many of our children collecting their merits in their ‘World Book Day’ outfits! Each Friday our children have the chance to stand in front of the school proudly as their names are read out and merits are awarded for special achievements. This week we heard of children gaining merits for ‘superb effort in PE lessons whilst sprinting non-stop’ along with ‘supporting peers in OPAL playtimes tidying the yard at the end of sessions’ and ‘helping visitors who came into school for the Angel of the North Project’ which we participated in last half-term. We also saw children up for awards whilst participating in BOCCIA and Swimming tournaments against schools in Tyne and Wear. We love to see our children engaged in as many enrichment opportunities as possible, these were two of the many event our children attend throughout the scholastic year. Well done to all the children who gained merits this morning. Maybe it will be you next week!
