What a wonderful day we have had in Year 6! This morning, we enjoyed reading with the children in Year 2 followed by a creative writing lesson where we were challenged to create our own characters, settings and short stories and an assembly led by Mrs Fraser and the pupil librarians. This afternoon, we welcomed our parents into our classroom to share some books with them too! Mrs Fraser and Mr Dunnigan loved the effort that the children had put into their costumes and we hope that Year 6 enjoyed their last World Book Day at St Aidan’s.
Some other activities that have taken place this week as part of St Aidan’s Book Week include: a live streamed lesson where we learnt about the conventions of different genres and used our imaginations in a writing challenge set by Michael Rosen; a book swap where we were able to swap book recommendations with our friends and teachers; a teacher swap where teachers from different classes came to share their favourite childhood stories; and a book sale on Monday and Tuesday evening after school.
