As part of our science topic ‘Living Things and Their Habitats’ Year 2 had a wonderful day at Washington Wetlands. In the morning, we spent some time exploring the nature around us. We looked at different areas and saw ducks, geese, otters and flamingos. Just before lunch, we even had time to play in the outdoor area. In the afternoon, the children were given a surprise as we saw Ava (a half bird and half girl) whom we have read about from a story in class. We were given a task to find out more information about Ava. We used a special translator phone and listened to the messages that the animals gave us about Ava. We then shared some information to Ava and helped her to fly!
