Year 6 Leavers’ Service at Durham Cathedral

This afternoon, Year 6 took the opportunity to reflect on their time at St Aidan’s and look forward to the many changes that are to come in their lives beyond primary school as they plan for their transition to secondary school in September. We visited Durham Cathedral along with other primary schools from across the Diocese of Durham to take part in a leavers’ service of songs, Bible readings and prayer. We enjoyed taking part in a number of prayer stations around the cathedral in which we reflected on our time in primary school and thought about how we could continue our faith journey in secondary school. We discussed what we were thankful for in our lives and prayed for support from God to support us with any worries or concerns that we may have about the future. Then we created pipe cleaner people to represent the people in our lives who have contributed to our learning and development so far as children of God.
