Nursery have been reading the story ‘Keith the Cat with the Magic Hat’ by Sue Hendra as part of our ‘At the Seaside’ topic. We decided to have a go at making our own ‘magic’ 5 minute ice cream in a bag. We mixed the ingredients – cream, vanilla essence and sugar in a small zip lock bag and then placed it in a larger zip lock bag containing ice and salt. We worked as a team to shake the bag for 5 minutes! It was hard work! After 5 minutes we opened the bag and we couldn’t believe our eyes – we had made ice cream! Of course, we had to give it a try and we all agreed that it was delicious.
We have all taken a copy of the recipe home so that we can make some more with our grown ups.
