This morning in Year 2, we had our transition morning to Year 3!
We found out that our new teacher will be Miss Kelley. She welcomed us back into class after our breaktime this morning and started with a game called ‘Get to know Miss Kelley’ where the children found out what she likes to do outside of school. She then asked the children things about themselves, such as; favourite colour and favourite books to read.
The children then created book butterflies which included their favourite book to read. The butterflies will be displayed in our new classroom from September near our reading area.
They then created pencils where they had to draw a picture of themselves and a write a fact that other people may not know about them. These will be displayed in our classroom when the children start Year 3 in September.
We were lucky enough to be able to choose our first story book in Year 3, which will be ‘Snow White’, but not the original tale! We also found out that we will be learning about The Bensham Tram Crash in History and an artist called Steven Brown in Art.
We all had a fabulous morning getting to know our new teacher and are very excited to start our new chapter in Year 3!
