In Science, we have been learning about the importance of keeping clean. We worked in groups and took part in a science experiment where we have used three slices of bread and three resealable bags. Each of the bags were labelled control, dirty and clean. The children used clean tongs and placed one slice of bread in the ‘control’ bag without touching it. Next, we used a second slice of bread and each child had touched the bread with their unwashed hands. This was placed in the ‘dirty’ bag. After, we washed our hands thoroughly with soap and water. We took a third slice of bread to touch with our freshly washed hands and placed the bread in the ‘clean’ bag. Next week, we will observe what has happened to the bread.
