Waterproof Investigation in Year 2

In Science our topic is ‘Uses of Everyday Materials’. This week, we worked in groups to take part in an investigation to find out which materials would be the best waterproof material. The materials included felt, paper, tin foil, cotton and cling film. First, we filled a cup with some water. We then placed the material on top of a beaker and secured it with an elastic band. After, we used a pipette to put drops of water onto the material and we discussed that if the water stays on top of the material it is waterproof.
