Year 1: Vehicles

We are delighted to share with you some of the amazing work that our year 1 pupils have done in their DT lessons. They have been learning about different types of vehicles and how they move, and they have used their creativity and skills to build and paint their own cardboard vehicles!

First, they designed their cars, thinking about the features and functions they wanted to include.

Next, they built their vehicle by folding and piecing parts of a cardboard sheet into a box shape. Then they painted their cars with bright and colourful paints, adding details and decorations to make them more realistic and attractive.

Finally, they had a chance to show off their cars to the rest of the class, explaining how they made them and what they liked about them. They also had fun playing with their cars, pretending to drive them around and making engine noises.

We are very proud of the children’s hard work and enthusiasm, and we hope you enjoy looking at the photos of their fantastic cardboard cars. Well done, year 1!
