This week in Literacy, we have been reading the story of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. In our classroom, we have took part in lots of activities based on the story.
In the construction area and tuft tray, we built tall beanstalks out of Duplo and Stickle Bricks. One of the children used green cubes to build beanstalks from small to big. As he built them, he counted how many cubes were on each beanstalk. He counted up to 7! How fantastic!
On the Art table, the children created beanstalks out of long strips of paper and green coloured card, which acted as the leaves of the beanstalk.
Today, the children had lots of fun playing in the Jack and the Beanstalk sensory tray made out of coloured rice, flour, pasta shells, weetabix and glitter.
Next week we will be reading ‘The Three Little Pigs’, following on from our traditional tales theme.
