Interfaith Week in Year 3

This week is our school’s Interfaith week and year 3 have been looking closely at Sikhism. During this half term the children have learned so much about Sikhism including their beliefs, the distinctive qualities of Sikh life and much more.

This week, the children were able to look more closely at some Sikh artefacts in class, including the Five K’s that each Sikh person wears, which they all had so much fun exploring and wearing before sketching their favourite pieces.

On Wednesday afternoon, the children were so excited to go on a trip to a Sikh place of worship called the Gurdwara! We had so much fun and we all learned so much. When we entered the Gurdwara we all had to remove our shoes, cover our heads and wash our hands. We were then given a tour around the building. The whole place was absolutely beautiful, and we were very fortunate enough to also hear some Sikh music live whilst we were there. The children really enjoyed this experience and full of questions to help them further their learning.
