We have all had a fabulous, busy first week back after half term!
In Maths, we have learnt about the number 4. We showed representations of number 4 on our fingers, on domino cards and numicon. We also made our own number blocks man by joining together blocks of 1 up to the number 4. We made these in different ways such as; standing up tall and in the shape of a square.
In PSHE, we learnt about bodies. We sang the song ‘head, shoulders, knees and toes’ and pointed to our body parts. We then used an outline of a person to create our own human. We included features such as; eyes, nose, mouth, hair and ears.
Today, we learnt about ‘St David’s Day’ which is a celebration day for people who live in Wales. We found out that a dragon is the animal symbol of Wales and a daffodil is the flower of Wales. We also found out that people in Wales speak a language called ‘Welsh’. We decided to make our own daffodils by using egg boxes and yellow paint to print on petals and using green paint to create the stem and leaves.
We have also enjoyed lots of exploring inside and outside of the classroom. Inside, we made ice creams with the Playdoh and played with the princesses in our new castle. Outside, we enjoyed cleaning the windows and using the camera to take photographs of our friends!
