On Thursday afternoon, year 5 and 6 were visited from PC Bowman; a Northumbria Police Officer. We discussed the types of bullying, the impact on a person and who we should inform if we have concerns about bullying. We watched informative case study videos and how it would make us feel. PC Bowman gave us advice to keep a diary if we have concerns about bullying. He explained this is good way to get it off our chests and document the events, so that when we tell a trusted adult all the evidence is available. This would also be vital if the matter had to go as far as reporting it to the police.
We gained an extremely informative insight and reminder into how bullying makes people feel; how it can destroy confidence and have a negative effect on an individuals life. We now have a better awareness of the consequences regarding bullying in relation to the law and legal offences as well. Thank you PC Bowman.
