Last Thursday afternoon, Year 5 were thrilled to find out that it was their turn to take part in Muddy Monsters in Forest School.
First, Phil talked the children through some rules, including health and safety. He then told the children they would be practising chopping pieces wood in half, with support. These pieces of wood would then be used at the fire pit.
The children then enjoyed lots of play time in Forest School. They took part in painting, building dens and making mud pies.
At the end of the session, the children then enjoyed learning how to light a fire with Phil. They’re hoping that the next time the fire is lit they can roast marshmallows!
