Writing our Non-Chronological Report

This week in English, we have been writing our draft and final piece of our non-chronological report about rivers.

First, we all came up with a heading for our report. Some of our headers included; ‘The journey of a river’ or ‘All about rivers’. We then wrote an introduction to our report, which included what you would find out about as you read the report. Some of our introductions contained a question too, for example, ‘Do you want to know some fascinating facts about rivers? Read on to find out…’ We then wrote the sub-heading, ‘Features of a river’. The paragraph we wrote, spoke about what natural and physical features make up a river and what a source is and where it begins. As we’ve drafted, we’ve also been writing up our report onto lined paper. Our final pieces have included; coloured, bubble writing for headers and bold or italic writing for key pieces of information throughout our report.
