This term Year 2 have been gaining some new skills as part of our Muddy Monster forest school sessions. We have learned how important it is to work as part of a team and beginning to understand the importance of listening to others and considering others opinions and ideas.
We have learned how to use a flint safely to light a fire, we have used a big hand saw to cut wood cookies, we used an axe to slice a log and we have learned how to sit safely around an open fire.
Whilst learning all these skills we have also had fun creating our own village using tarps and ropes, we have created our own rope swing and enjoyed painting with mud.
We found lots of creatures who live in our forest school and Phil reminded us of the importance of caring for these.
Muddy Monsters has been great fun and we can’t wait to return in the new year!
