On Thursday 26th June, the year 5 class were invited to visit Kingsmeadow. It was very exciting as none of us knew what we were expecting. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed and observed that the school has values that they live by just like St Aidan’s. We were then led into, what felt like, a huge hall and The Headteacher spoke to us about the school. We were joined by another school and given the opportunity to ask questions. After that, we were given a punctuation performance by another teacher. He used singing, comedy and drama to help teach us about punctuation, he certainly kept us amused. After a short break, where we we given fruit, cereal bars and water, we were taken to a psychology lesson. Part of the learning included understanding that the frontal lobe part of our brain, doesn’t develop until we are 25 years old! Then we were asked to use only our sense of touch, to dip our hands into a big bowl of baked beans and sketch what we thought we felt. After scrubbing the bean juice off our hands, it was time to go back to school. Thank you so much Kingsmeadow staff and students; we had a great time and were made to feel ever so welcomed.
