In PE this half term, Year 3 are learning to play dodgeball. The children loved their first session on Wednesday which introduced the children to the mix of physical and social skills which will be developed throughout the unit in a fun, fast-paced way.
Physically, the children worked on their hand-eye coordination, to track, catch, and throw the ball accurately. They also developed their agility and speed, to dodge, duck, and move quickly around the court.
Socially, the game promotes teamwork and communication. The children will learn about fair play, resilience, and confidence, handling both winning and losing in a positive way.
The children all participated well and look forward to their next lesson.
