In art last half term, we learnt about the contemporary Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama and using her work as inspiration for our own artwork. We found out that her artwork often contains lots of bright, vivid colours, repeating dot patterns and angular shapes. Some of her artwork even includes pumpkins and peppers! We used the technique of screen printing to recreate one of her art installations in New York. Each of us designed and printed a pattern on some fabric and we created a collage of our artwork as a class.
