At the start of this weeks lesson, Lloyd played the theme tune “I’ll be there for you” from FRIENDS on his electric guitar. He then showed the children the notes on the bars that they’d be playing. Once tuned, half of the children then played the notes on the guitar whilst the other half listened. The children then swapped over so everyone had a turn. Some of the children then performed the notes on their own.
Lloyd then refreshed the children’s memories by reminding them of a “pull off” that they learnt about in Year 5 last year, meaning that you pick the string once and pull off with your first finger. The children then had a practise of doing this on their guitars.
Lloyd then showed the children the next set of bars that they had to practise from the theme tune.
At the end of the lesson, the children performed individually the tune on their guitars.
