We have had a wonderful term in our Year 5 MFL lessons with Italian. Learning about our topic of ‘Animals’ has allowed us to name ten new animal nouns, classify determiners based on gender agreement and then we even had a chance to construct grammatically correct sentences based on prior learning from Year 4 with introducing our names. Our extensions in this subject this term, have been with using coordination conjunctions like ‘and’ or ‘but’ in Italian to extend or compare sentences. In our most recent lesson we completed our assessments and children needed to use their knowledge solving speaking, listening, reading and writing based questions from the whole topic. We have loved this unit and keep pushing our phonological awareness each week so that in our next Italian video call we have more to share and say. Well done Year 5!
