This half term in English, Year 3 are reading the novel ‘The Iron Man’ by Ted Hughes. At the beginning of the week, we read the first chapter and explored the description of the Iron Man. In the coming weeks, we are going to use the text to write a set of instructions on how to build an Iron Man. Therefore, we had a go at using a range of resources to build our own junk model Iron Men. We used cardboard boxes for the body, buttons and milk bottle tops for eyes and buttons and foil to make them look like they’re made from metal. Everyone was really creative and enjoyed this practical activity based on the book.
