St. Chad’s Church

Yesterday afternoon, Reception class visited St. Chad’s Church in Bensham as part of their RE topic; ‘Special Places’.

Over the last couple of weeks, the children have been talking about their own special places and why they are special to them. We have also learnt that a church is special to Christians because it is where people can worship God, a place where people feel safe and where people come together to join in celebrations such as; weddings and baptisms.

On their trip to church, the children were greeted by Reverend Yvonne who spoke to them about why church is special to her and what role she is involved in. She then showed the children features of the church, which included; the font and stained glass windows.
