Baking Banana Muffins

Part of our D&T topic is to follow instruction to make banana muffins. We have previously followed the journey a banana makes to get on our supermarket shelves . This was a fascinating insight into which countries the bananas are grown and how they are packed and transported to their final destination in the UK.

This week the task was to make banana muffins. We worked well as teams to ensure everyone had a job to complete and we followed the instructions carefully. There were a couple of egg shells lost within the cake mixture, which we managed to retrieve, but on the whole, it was a very successful activity.

After about 15 mins in the oven, it was time for the tasting test. We had very mixed reviews, some children said they would have preferred a different type of fruit, or they could have been tastier with chocolate chips in them. Luckily, we had some left over and the children were eager to share their muffins with their families. If you were one of the families to try one, I hope you enjoyed you as much as we did baking it.
