Year 1 have been reading the fact book, The big book of blue by Yuval Zommer. The children used this to create information posters about different animals from under the sea. They carried out further research by visiting the school library and using the internet. Our visit to the Aquarium helped us further our knowledge of sea life in our local area as well as around the world.
Whilst at the Aquarium we took part in a rockpool workshop where we had the opportunity to touch starfish, sea anemone and have a close look at a hermit crab. We then explored the Aquarium and saw some strange and wonderful sea creatures. We even met a lobster, who we were told, will never die as he can regenerate different body parts as he needs them.
